Philip L. Roth, 84, Brainerd, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Brainerd, to Louis and Anna (Grossman) Roth. He married Jessie Noggle on Feb. 14, 1942, in Brainerd. He was employed with American Express, Turcotte's Grocery and as a bookkeeper for Gustafson Lumber Co. before retiring in 1981 from Potlatch paper mill after 19 years of service. He worked selling cemetery monuments or markers for Empire Memorials. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and an Elk's Life Member.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nancy Roth Lindell, Mobile, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
Two brothers, George and Bill, and a sister, Margaret, died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Seamus Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and one hour before services Friday at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph's Hospice.
