Mrs. Myrtle (Peggy) Hargis, died Wednesday, May 28, at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony's Hospital, Amarillo. She had been ill for several months.
Mrs. Hargis was born April 5, 1927, at Aztec, N.M., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Calvin Hargis, Sr., now of Delta, Colorado. She had lived in Wellington about 10 years, coming from Delta. Until she became ill, she was associated with Allsups, and prior to that time she had worked as a nurse and for Wellington businesses. She was a member of the Church of the Living Word.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Neeley and Mrs. Benny McDanel, both of Wellington; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hargis; three sisters, Mrs. Lois Alloy of Delta, Mrs. Dorothy Compton of Vallejo, Calif., and Mrs. June Stewart of Canon City, Colo.; two
brothers, John Calvin Hargis, Jr., and Bill G. Hargis, both of Farmington, N.M.; and 5 grandchildren.
