Louie H. Swearengin Services Held At Rogersville June 2
Services for Louie H. Swearengin of Rogersville were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the Rogersville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Winston Burton officiating. Burial was in the West Finley Cemetery near Fordland.
Mr. Swearengin, 93, died at 12:01 p.m. Monday, May 29, 1995, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield after a brief illness.
He was born May 19, 1902, in Douglas County to James Henry and Martha Jane Hays Swearengin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Delbert Earl; and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hensley and May Gertrude Sagerser.
He was a member of the Rogersville First Baptist Church.
Mr. Swearengin was married Velma Marie Moses on Jan. 17, 1927, in Sparta.
Surviving are his wife, Velma; one daughter, Veldena Bench and husband, Don; one son, Delbert Swearengin and wife, Sandra, all of Rogersville; nine grandchildren; and 12-great-grandchildren.
