SCHMIDT, Elmer J. - Suddenly on Tuesday, October 11, 2005, while travelling from Millbank. Elmer J. Schmidt of Wellesley and formerly of Millbank. He was born in Mornington Township 90 years ago. Son of the late Peter B. O. Schmidt and the late Elizabeth Jantzi. Elmer was a member of the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church. He farmed in Mornington retiring in 1979. Beloved husband of Ella Mae (Jantzi) Schmidt, of Wellesley. Dear father of Barbara and her husband Roy Kuepfer of RR1, Newton. Step-father of Raymond and his wife Margaret Wagler of Wellesley, Harold and his wife Nancy Wagler of Millbank, Norma Kuepfer of Milverton, Eva and her husband David Erb of RR2, Wellesley, Mary and her husband Delmer Erb of RR2, Wellesley, Eleanor Wagler of RR2, Bayfield and Daniel and his wife Marlene Wagler of RR1, Wellesley. Loving sister of Fannie and her husband Jacob Lebold of Wellesley. Brother-in-law of Mary Schmidt, Katie Erb and Lorne Lichty. Lovingly remembered by 32 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife, Annie Lebold, 1991; by brothers, Nicholas and his wife Emma Schmidt and Lorne Schmidt, by his sisters, Laura Lichty and Emma Erb and her husband Cornelinus Erb, also by a son-in-law, Levi Kuepfer, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 1172 Henry St. in Wellesley, where family and friends will be received on Saturday and Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A family service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 17, 2005, at 1 p.m. Followed by the funeral service at the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church, RR2, Wellesley, at 2 p.m. Bishop Arthur Gerber will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mornington Amish Mennonite Cemetery Poole West. Memorials to Master International Ministries would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
