"Sometime during 1871, Daniel, Agnes and younger children James B, Margaret and Agnes Isabella, along with married daughter Frances and her husband Joseph Barber and Ann Oakman, mother, moved to McDonough County, Illinois. Daniel purchased a farm near his son, Joseph, who previously settled in Illinois. Most of Agnes Barnett's siblings were also living in or near McDonough County. Daniel farmed and did carpentry work. Daniel and Agnes and daughters Margaret and Frances and her husband returned to Pennsylvania before 1899. Daniel and Agnes Barnett had a large family of fourteen children and left many descendants"

Agnes's father Ebenezer, born in Lynn Massachusetts, was descended from Isaac; Samuel; Josiah; Samuel; the progenitor settling in Scarboro Maine about 1657. A long line of Mariners, sailmakers, fishermen of Maine, then of Boston, Marblehead & Lynn, Massachusetts. He moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he met and married Ann Bruce Ansely his second wife. Ann was orphaned and raised by Quakers, the Robert Anselys of Philadelphia. Ann herself was of the Quaker faith. The Oakmans settled in Bedford County, Pennsylvania before 1820 where Agnes was born. Agnes Oakman Barnett died January 12, 1901 in Bedford County at her daughter Frances Barber's home. She and Daniel are buried in Fairview Methodist Church cemetery in Taylor Township, Fulton County, Pennsylvania.
