|Birth: ||Sep. 23, 1878|
|Death: ||Oct. 30, 1942|
San Francisco County
Albert had several careers during his working years. He was a miner in a silver mine for awhile; worked as an accountant; was a bank clerk; and ultimately a sales representative. He lived most of his adult life in San Francisco, California and Portland, Oregon. After Albert married Aimee Prothero Crawley, her children, Donald and Barbara, assumed his surname. He was a very loved and admired stepfather and was devoted to the children.
When the 1900 United States Federal Census was taken, Albert was 19 years old, worked as a bank clerk, and was living with his parents in Hyde Park, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. By the 1920, he worked as a silver miner, was a lodger living on Powell Street in San Francisco, and his marital status showed "divorced". The 1930 Census stated Albert was living on Bay Street in San Francisco, was still divorced, and was employed as an accountant in a business office.
In September of 1908, Albert had married Helen Roberts, who was twenty-two years old. The ceremony took place in Chicago, but apparently the marriage ended in divorce some time prior to 1918.
By September 12, 1918, when Albert signed his Draft Registration Card, he was living at White Plains, Nevada, where he worked for McGill National Bank as a cashier. His marital status at that time was not mentioned and his mother, Anna Bella Slichter of Chicago, was listed as his contact. According to the draft card, Albert was of medium height, was stout, and had brown hair and eyes. He listed his year of birth as 1880, which is in conflict with documents that say he was born in 1878.
In 1921, Albert was residing in San Francisco and was working for the Bank of Italy. By 1925, he was employed by the San Francisco Land and Improvement Company and in 1926, he was working in real estate.
Albert died at home of coronary thrombosis. He and his wife, Aimee Prothero, were residing at 2427 38th Avenue in San Francisco. At the time of his death, Albert had been employed as a manager for Recordak Corporation, a photography business.
