WILLIAM H. PURDY
William H. Purdy, second son of Edmund and Nancy Champlin Purdy, was born in the town of Sherburne, New York, July 15, 1850, living there until he became of age, when he went to Maple Grove, Minn.
In 1875 he was married to Mary McCall Boswell. They lived in Minnesota until the winter of 1892 when they went to Pasadena. After 12 years they removed to Whittier and settled on the ranch on Sixth street. Recently before coming to California en- on Painter avenue, this city, where he died Friday. WILLIAM H. PURDY
William H. Purdy, second son of Edmund and Nancy Champlin Purdy, was born in the town of Sherburne, New York, July 15, 1850, living there until he became of age, when he went to Maple Grove, Minn.
In 1875 he was married to Mary McCall Boswell. They lived in Minnesota until the winter of 1892 when they went to Pasadena. After 12 years they removed to Whittier and settled on the ranch on Sixth street. Recently before coming to California en- on Painter avenue, this city, where he died Friday. (*Copied as you see it from his obituary.)
Children now living are Ada Card of Los Angeles, William J. and Raymond Purdy of Whittier, L. E. (Leroy Ernest) Purdy of Pasadena and Floyd M. Purdy of Reedly, Cal.
There also survive eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren,
two brothers and two sisters, Lewis E. Purdy of Orchardale, Cal.; Frank O. Purdy of Sherburne, New York; Harriet Fairchild, of Earlville, New York and Kittie Lowell of Tarrytown, New York.
Mr. Purdy's wife died in 1923.
