Her father, José María Rodríguez y Parra (BP Baptism 00006), was 38, and her mother, María del Carmen Domínguez y Féliz (BP Baptism 00141), was 25. She married Pedro de Alcantará Romero y Alanís (BP Baptism 00594) at the Santa Bárbara Presidio Chapel on June 16, 1845 (BP Marriage 00273). Josefa became a U.S. citizen with the transfer of California's sovereignty in 1848.
