SOUTH OGDEN -Melva Jean Pulsipher Bigler, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2007.

She was born December 27, 1931 in Thatcher, Arizona, to Carl A. and Wanda Bushnell Pulsipher.

Melva married Mark H. Bigler in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 20, 1951. Their marriage was performed by Spencer W. Kimball who was a friend of Mel-va's father.

She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served the Lord in numerous capacities and loved serving in the temple with her husband, where she made many close friends. Devotion to the Savior and her family was the center of her life.

Melva was an excellent cook and arranged food beautifully and it always tasted delicious. She enjoyed crocheting and was an accomplished oil painter. She loved to read and had an outstanding vocabulary. She enjoyed playing games with her family. Her grandchildren always looked forward to grandma's annual Easter egg hunt. Melva had six children that she cherished and loved with all her heart. Melva was a wonderful mother and her children benefited from her bright intellect and loving heart. She was a perfect example of what a mother should be.

Surviving are her husband of South Ogden; children, Mark P. (Sharee) Bigler, Kevin S. Bigler deceased (Sharon), Lane R. (MaryLou) Bigler, Todd D. Bigler, Wade C. (Elizabeth) Bigler, Melanie B. (Darryl) Call; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren that she loved and adored. She made each one feel special.

Also surviving are her siblings, Carol (Galen) Smith, Joyce (Larry) Lowder and Dennis (Dixie) Pulsipher.

She was preceded in death by her son Kevin Bigler, her sister Marva Chappell, and her parents.

We want to express our profound gratitude to Amy Squire and the others from Vista Care Hospice for their loving and compassionate nursing care during Melva's final weeks.
