STAUNTON — Bertha Regina (Fitzgerald) McClung, 87, formerly of 3378 Stuarts Draft Highway, Waynesboro, died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Envoy of Staunton. She was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Montebello, a daughter of Golden R. and Ruth (Layton) Fitzgerald.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. McClung had been employed for 44 years at DuPont.
She was a member of Greenville Baptist Church.
Family members include two sons, N. Wayne McClung of Stuarts Draft and Gary P. McClung of Raphine; six sisters, Sybil Coiner, Becky Truxell and husband, Carlton, Eva Hamilton, Doris Sweet and husband, Clyde, Margie Houser and her husband, Erskine, and Betty Thacker and husband, Fred; two grandchildren, Beth M. Pitchford and husband, Keith, of Stuarts Draft and Leslie M. Scott and husband, David, of Columbia, S.C.; and a great-grandchild, Morgan E. Pitchford.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, March 8, 2011, at Greenville Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Marshall Braylo.
A memorial service will be conducted in the church following the graveside service.
