Henry King, Jr., 89, died Saturday morning (March 5, 2011) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
He was a native and life-long resident of Ware County. He was the son of the late Henry King, Sr., and Nora Ray King. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Ray King; a sister, Pat Smith, and four brothers, Barney King, Preston King, Bill King, and Ralph King.
He was a retired farmer, and had served with the United States Army during World War 2. He was a member of the Waycross Elks Club, Ware County Farm Bureau, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Turner King of Millwood; three daughters, Patricia Crawford (husband Eddie), Peggy Taylor (husband Nick), and Brenda Drury (husband Richard) all of Millwood; seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; a sister, Dina Penland of Waycross; a brother, Jack Leon King of Millwood, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday (March 7, 2011) at Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Hephzibah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday at Music Funeral Home.
