Suffragist. The daughter of Lyman Beecher, and half-sister of Henry Ward Beecher and Harriet Beecher Stowe, she organized the New England Woman's Suffrage Association in 1868 and the Connecticut Woman's Suffrage Association in 1869. She authored the work "Mother's Letters to a Daughter on Woman's Suffrage."
