Cornie McCarson Cook, 90, of Rossville, GA passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011.
She was a native of Chattanooga, TN and had lived in Rossville, GA for over 50 years. She was a member of the St. Elmo Church of Christ and in the 1960's she sold Home Goods for L.B. Price Co. Her passions in life were her family, the privilege to vote, playing music, and writing. Her motto in life was, "to do that which is right and stand up for truth and justice."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Larkin Cook, Sr.; son Jesse Larkin Cook, Jr.; parents, Ernest G. McCarson, Sr. and Mary Shelby McCarson; one brother; and five sisters.
Survivors include her three daughters, Brenda Cook Boyd of Ringgold, GA, Susan Cook Everett of Rossville, GA, and Pamela Cook Davis of Powder Springs, GA; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Cornie Cook at 7625 Hamilton Park Dr # 8 Chattanooga, TN 37421-1188
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Minister John A. Cupp officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
