Prominent Business Man Passes Away

I. Willard Beam, Who Married Sister of Victor H. Metcalf, Dies in French Hospital

I Willard Beam, a prominent businessman of San Francisco, Cal., died at the French hospital, yesterday afternoon. Many friends on both sides of the bay will mourn his death.

A native of Newark, New Jersey, he came to San Francisco in his youth, and was at the time identified with the California Wire Works. He had ever since been closely associated with the steel and wire business of the entire Pacific coast.

Mr. Beam married Miss Carrie Metcalf, sister of Victor H. Metcalf, Secretary of the Navy. Besides his widow, he leaves two children, William Metcalf Beam and Mrs. Godfrey Wakeman.

The funeral will be held Sunday, at 2 o'clock from the home, 663 Steiner Street, San Francisco.
