She was survived by two step-children: Victor Akers and Nancy Siouk and five step-grandchildren.
She was survived by three sisters and two brothers:

She was survived by brother-in-law Elton Bachman and sister-in-law Ruth Shollenberger.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Ralph E. and Flora J. Shollenberger and brother-in-laws Nevin H. Graff and John Wolfe.
Mrs. Akers was a 1941 graduate of Hamburg High School, Hamburg, PA.
She was a waitress in the Hamburg, PA and Florida areas for many years. She was then head cook at Everett Southern High School for two years and also worked as a Nutritional Aid for the Home Nursing Agency. Mrs. Akers also worked as secretary/treasurer for Akers Excavation for twenty-five years.
She enjoyed traveling, taking walks in the woods with her dog "Red Rover", watching and enjoying birds, visiting family, friends and neighbors, and cooking and baking for gatherings with her family. She will be sadly missed by all of those who knew, cared and loved her.
Funeral services were held at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Debi Decker officiating. Burial was made in Shreves Chapel Cemetery, Clearville.
