Jan. 2, 1941 - Feb. 18, 2002

HANNIBAL - Chancey E. Runyon Jr., 61, of Louisiana and formerly of Hannibal, died at 4:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Smith-Barr Manor in Louisiana.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Kenneth Schamber will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal.
. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Runyon was born Jan. 2, 1941, in Louisiana to Chancey E. Sr. and Lillie F. Johnson Runyon.
. He was married to Doris I. McNew on Aug. 13, 1965, in Hannibal. She survives.
. Other survivors include two sons, Chancey E. Runyon III and Chuck Slater, both of Louisiana; two daughters, Gay Slater of Wentzville and Georgia Waters; one brother, Jesse Runyon of Hannibal; six sisters, Ruby Hopkins of Eolia and Gertrude Kline, Edna Bush, Ruth Ann Treaster and Esther Glover, all of Hannibal, and Helen Threlkeld of Eldridge, Iowa; and several grandchildren.
. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Allen Runyon, Lewis Runyon and Joe Runyon; and one sister, Mary Cox.
. Mr. Runyon retired as a maintenance mechanic for the Dundee Cement Co. in Louisiana. He was a member of the United Cement Lime and Gypsum Workers International. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the NRA. He was a Presbyterian by faith.
. Pallbearers will be Joey Runyon, Jimmy Runyon, John Cook, Kenneth Glover, Dwayne Bush and Charles Summy.
