John Carmichael(my 3rd great grandfather) was born to Jacob and Rachael Elston Carmichael. They moved Ohio where John met and married Jane La Fever on April 4, 1826 in Knox County. They had 6 children: Jacob Elston, William, Johanna, Isaac Newton, Emily (my 2nd great grandmother)and Phoebe. Emily lived to be 97 years old, one year older than my father and the oldest known in our line. John died in 1877 at the age of 68.
