OBIT: Brookings [SD] Register May 24, 1953: "Victor J PETERSON died Thursday at Brookings Munucipal Hospital. He was 51 years old. Mr PETERSON had been a farm hand and was employed by Harvey Leuning at Dell Rapids. He had lived in Brookings for 40 years. His wife Marie, died in 1930. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 PM at the Rudes Funeral Chapel. Rev E O Gilbertson officiated. Burial was in the Hetland cemetery. Pallbearers were Jake PETERSON Jr, Lyle PETERSON, Wesley PETERSON, Richard PETERSON, Philip PETERSON and Benjamin LEE. Mr PETERSON is survived by a daughter, Mary, and a son James of West Fork, Ark. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs Clara McGEE of Arlington and Mrs Alfred HEATH (Julia) of Brookings. Other surviving relatives are two brothers, Nels of Bryant and Roy of Huron and a sister Mrs. Paul HANSON (Ruby) of Duluth, MN"
