Actor. Born Nicholas Cuccia, he was stuntman and film actor, best known for being in movies with actor Burt Lancaster. Cravat met Lancaster when they were children in New York City and became lifelong friends. In the 1930s, they created an acrobatic act as, "Lang and Cravat" and joined the Kay Brothers circus in Florida. Together they worked at various circuses and Vaudeville shows until Lancaster suffered a hand injury which ended their act in 1939. They would later reunite and Cravat went on to co-star in nine films with Lancaster. Some of his most memorable roles were in "The Flame and the Arrow" (1950), "The Crimson Pirate" (1952), "King Richard and the Crusaders" (1954), "Three Ring Circus" (1954) and "Run Silent Run Deep" (1958). For television, he was best remembered for playing the gremlin on the wing of an airplane in the "Twilight Zone" episode, "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" starring William Shatner in 1963. He died of cancer at age 82. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)

You were great as the 'gremlin' in "The Twilight Zone ~ Nightmare at 20,000 Feet". That episode is a classic and it still terrifies me! Rest always in heavenly peace, Mr. Cravat.
