Born Eichelberg, Hesse Darmstadt, Germany. Daughter of Melchior Hartmann and Anna Barbara Rohr (a widow)....born 1827. Gave birth to daughter Elizabeth March 25, 1847, illigetimately,,,,,was not yet married to Johann Neff, he had NOT done his military required duty, so he could NOT get married. They apparently decided the heck with the military, and immigranted to USA Jan. 1848 on the Ship "Elise" to NYC. Settled in Sharpsburg, Allegheny Co PA. Had 13 children.
