He was the long-time songwriting partner of Harry Warren. Some of his timeless tunes include "At Last," "Chattanooga Choo-Choo," "I've Got a Gal In Kalamazoo," "With My Eyes Wide Open I'm Dreaming," "You'll Never Know," "You Make Me Feel So Young," and "There Will Never Be Another You," among many others. His songs have been used in countless movies, TV shows, and stage productions. Nominated nine times for the Acadamy Award, he won the Oscar only once, for his song "You'll Never Know," which was featured in the 1943 comedy/musical "Hello Frisco, Hello," which he shared with co-writer Warren.
