John A. Hawver, Jr., son of Lulu D. and John A. Hawver Sr., was born Sept. 5, 1896 in Fayette county, West Virginia, and departed this life at the Stafford hospital Feb. 8, 1946, at the age of 49 years, 5 months and 3 days.
When a small boy he united with the Methodist church.
He served in a medical detachment in World War I.
He was united in marriage to Ora Parker Sept. 5, 1923.
His mother and three brothers preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, his aged father, J. A. Hawver of Stafford; four brothers, Frank, Ray and Robert, all of Stafford, George of Joplin, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Roth, of Nickerson, Mrs. Marie Figgers, Mrs. Emma Garey and Mrs. Ruth Winkler, all of Stafford, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb, 11, at the Mission mortuary at Pratt. The services were in charge of the American Legion. Rev. D. B. Bennett of Iuka delivered the sermon. Interment was in the Greenlawn cemetery at Pratt.
