Ruth Louise Gibbons, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 27, 2011 at her home.

Ruth was born April 5, 1938 in Rigby, Idaho, to Glen James Radford and Dortha Louise Monroe Radford. She grew up in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School.

On February 1, 1957 she married Frank E. "Toby" Gibbons in Rigby. Together they raised four daughters. Frank preceded her in death on July 20, 2002.

Ruth worked as a mother and a homemaker. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She especially loved being a Grandma.

Survivors include her daughters: Twinkie (Ron) Swafford, Kathy (Ted) Trillhaase, Dorthy Baldwin, and Karen (David) McMurtrey, all of Idaho Falls; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two brothers: Vardis (Shirley) Radford, of Rigby, and Lynn (Kay) Radford, of Ucon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Toby; her grandson, Jason McMurtrey; and her brother, Jim Radford.

Graveside Services for Ruth will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue) prior to leaving for the cemetery.
