Bennie Grooms, 78, died Friday, February 25, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville.
He was born March 9, 1932, to Clarence Edward, Sr. and Ida Mae Durrance Grooms. He was a member of the Booneville Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and a retired truck driver.
Funeral Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Skelton and Bro. Beaux Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Church of God Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Ruth Arnold Grooms; two daughters, Bettie Sue Sheppard and husband, Tommy, of Tishomingo and Janice R. Hall and husband, Phillip, of Booneville; two sons, David E. Grooms and wife, Pamela; and Ronald Joe Grooms and wife, Pam; both of Booneville; two sisters, Lena Jackson and Dorothy Myers, both of Booneville; one brother, Robert "Sarge" Grooms of Booneville; 12 Grandchildren; and seven Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Stella Benfield and Marie Strong; and four brothers, Johnny, Alex, General Lee and Clarence Edward Grooms, Jr.
