Von Kigar died of Cancer at his home near Greensburg Thursday, March 12, 1942 at 5:15 am, after an illness of six months. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. B. Billmann, pastor of the Memphis Christian Church, Friday at 2 pm at the Greensburg Christian Church and interment was in the cemetery there. Von Kigar was born in Scotland county on April 30, 1898, being almost 44 years of age at the time of his death. He lived his entire life in this county. He was never married and is survived by five brothers Oscar and Joe Kigar of Edina, Mo., Raymond Kigar of Baring, and Lewis and Earl Kigar of Greensburg. Two brothers, Otto and Fred Kigar, preceded him in death. two sisters, Mrs. Maud Burris, Baring, and Mrs. Alice Salisbury, Morris, Iowa.
