Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon, May 4, at 2 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. Burial will be at Bone Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Root was born in Edwards County Feb. 12, 1913, the daughter of Ira and Emma (Crow) Copley. She married George Lewis Root in Edwards County Oct. 25, 1930. He preceded her in death May 28, 1980.
Mrs. Root was a member of the Bone Gap Christian Church.
Mrs. Root is survived by sons, George, Edward, Herschel, and James all of Bone Gap, Kenneth, Fairfield, and Marcus, West Salem; one daughter, Frankie Pearl Kortge, West Salem; two brothers, Wilbur Copley, Olney and Doyle C. Copley, Albion; four sisters, Flossie Doty, Mt. Carmel, Goldie Sperry, West Salem, Bessie Cowling and Bettie Murray, both of Albion; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Root was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister, and one grandson.
