Funeral services for Elbridge Gabehart, 77 years of age, were held Monday, January 11, at 2 p.m. from the Jones Chapel Methodist CHurch with the Rev. Elmer Stevens, Rev. Otis Melton and Rev. Reid Thompson in charge of the services. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Gabehart, son of the late George and Nancy Bowen Gabehart, was born July 22, 1876 in Taylor County, Ky. He died Saturday, January 9 at 1:30 a.m. at his home near Jones Chapel.

He had been in declining health for the past several months. He professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Jones Chapel Methodist Church. He served as steward, trustee, Sunday school teacher, and song leader at the Jones Chapel Church for many years.

He united in marriage to Miss Myrtle Noel some 59 years ago, and she preceded him in death in 1916. To this union four sons and five daughters were born.
Surviving are: Buster Gabehart, Henry Gabehart, Mrs. Bob Williams, Mrs. F. B. Mann, and Mrs. Ermine Wise, all of Taylor County; Noel Gabehart of Casey County; Mrs. Fred Walsh of Inkster, Mich.; and Herbert Gabehart of Braidwood, Ill.

On March 7, 1917 he united in marriage to Miss Linnie Combs, who survives.
To this union five sons and five daughters were born. Surviving are: Mrs. Myrtle Cox and Mrs. Cleveland Minor, both of Taylor County; Mrs. Fonzia Farmer, Howard Gabehart, Merlin Gabehart, and Miss Norma Jean Gabehart, all of Casey County; Mrs. Robert Cox of Louisville; Burl Gabehart of Mt. Washington and Pvt. Donald Gabehart of Fort Knox.

Besides his wife and children, he is survived by 52 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. The pallbearers were Don Kenneth Gabehart, Robert Williams Jr., Elzie Wise, Brent Cox, Jackie Farmer, and Harmon Williams.
