Lulu Ann Arie married Judge Alexander Graham Hobbs September 16, 1897 in Hiawatha, Brown County, Kansas. Lulu Ann Arie Hobbs married Frederick Lane March 18, 1915 at
Topeka, Kansas. Both marriages produced a media sensation in the local Horton Headlight, a local Horton, Kansas newspaper.(September 23, 1897 and April 15,1915) The first marriage caused a stir because of the difference in ages of the bride and the groom. The second marriage was sensationalized because of the retired groom's large army officer pension;or,maybe it was because the first marriage ended in divorce after 11 years.

Lulu Ann Arie had Quaker ancestors from her grandmother, Sarah Jane Woodward Shuck's line. See family links below.
