Russian Royalty. She was the Grand Duchess of Russia and youngest daughter of Czar Nicholas II. She is known as the most spontaneous member of the imperial family. The photos, discovered in archives in the Kremlin after the fall of the Soviet Union and her diary, seem to prove the opinion of historians as to her nature. Her name is connected to the famous rumor of her having survived the July 16, 1918, massacre in Yekaterinburg. In 1924, a presumed heir to the throne of Russia, whose real name was Anna Anderson, publicly declared herself to be Anastasia. After several investigations and trials, the alleged heir was declared to be an imposter. Anastasia's true remains, after DNA testing, are resting in the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul.
