United States Coast Guard Memorial
Birth: unknown
Death: unknown

Dedicated May 23, 1928, the monument honors all the US Coast Guard personal who lost their lives on the cutters Seneca and Tampa during World War I. The monument's rock foundation pyramid design has a bronze sea gull, poised with its wings uplifted. The bird symbolizes the constant vigil the US Coast Guard maintains over the nation's maritime territory with the Coast Guard motto Semper Paratus (Always Ready). (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
