Rock Musician. He Succeeded Robert Martinez as drummer of the music ensemble "? (Question Mark) and the Mysterians". Born to parents of Mexican descent, Serrato along with Rudy Martinez, Bobby Balderrama, Frank Rodriguez and Frank Lugo formed the group in Bay City in 1962. After signing with the Cameo record label, they achieved stardom with their gold single "96 Tears" (which reached number 1 on the Pop Charts in 1966) and with its success led to them appearing on TV's American Bandstand. An additional Top-40 hit followed with "I Need Somebody" (peaking at number 22 in 1966). After his departure in 1970, Serrato would go on to be a successful musical engineer with Joey Records in San Antonio, Texas. (bio by: C.S.)
