Birth: Jan. 8, 1803
Saratoga County
New York, USA
Death: Oct. 2, 1872
Kilbourne
Delaware County
Ohio, USA

He lived 69 years. His 4 sons all served in the Civil War. See the book "Lincoln's Veteran Volunteers Win the War" by Daniel Reid Ross. His death was reported in Kilbourne, Ohio and he was buried in a cemetery there. Perhaps with his son, Melancton Ross in Lake County Ohio but his son Dr. Daniel Ross, erected a 4 sided memorial in Falling Waters Presbyterian Church cemetery in West Virginia. Falling Waters is not far from Hedgesville in Berkeley County. One side of the memorial marks the grave of his sister, Anna Marie , one side marks the memory of his brother William Henry who was wounded on May 5, 1864, died the next day on the battlefield, and his body was never recovered. Dr Daniel exhumed the bodies of his father, Charles W. Ross, and his first born child Margaret, both of whom died in Kilbourne, and had them re-buried at Falling Waters.
