Born Sept. 16, 1927, in Pocahontas, Tenn., he was the son of Calvin L. and Rilla Mary Lacefield Goodrum.
He served in the U.S. Army as a private during World War II. Mr. Goodrum had resided in the Oil City area most of his life. He worked as a welder/pipe fitter at Pennzoil for 33 years until his retirement. Mr. Goodrum was a member of the Calvary Temple for more than 30 years. He also was an ordained minister and enjoyed preaching and singing, going to church, Bible study and helping others. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, taking walks, working on cars and gardening.
Mr. Goodrum was married Aug. 17, 1953, to Mary G. McClellan, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, C. Keith Goodrum and wife, Sue, of Washington, Pa., Kenneth J. Goodrum and Daniel L. Goodrum, both of Oil City; three daughters, Angela J. Mengle and husband, Clint, Delores D. Goodrum and Laura J. Hutchinson and husband, Michael, all of Oil City; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Sadie Davis, and a brother, William A. Goodrum and wife, Willie, all of Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Goodrum was preceded in death by two sons, Steven J. Goodrum and Benjamin F. Goodrum; three brothers, Clarence Goodrum, James Goodrum and John Goodrum; and four sisters, Mary Kirk, Nellie Jernigan, Rosalie Borden and Anna Rae Cartwright.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Hutchinson Funeral Home, 201 Bissell Ave., Oil City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Rudy Rimer, pastor of Calvary Temple, officiating.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Oil City.
