Died Before June 1, 1900. He was not listed in 1900 census and his wife/widow was living with son, Charley Smith in the 11th District of Warren County, Tennessee. Census says that anyone alive on June 1, 1900 was to be included even if deceased on day census was recorded. Also great grandson, John Vinson Smith gave William Edward Smith as the name of his(John Vinson's) grandfather's father. John Vinson being the eldest child of Charley Vinson's eldest child. And the person who gave the information for Charley Vinson's death certificate.
