Mary Ann was the daughter of George Creel, Jr. & Clara Buckner Creel. She became the wife Colonel Turner Boulware, son of Mark and Agatha Boulware, on 28 May 1829. He had served in the War of 1812.
Census records show the children of Mary Ann Creel & Col. Turner Boulware were: Mark, James, Elizabeth B., Agnes, John, Maria, George B., Lucy F., and Clara Boulware.
Son, George B. & wife Malana A. Cain Boulware, daughter Clara & husband George Lockhart, and daughter Elizabeth Boulware are also buried in Freeport Cemetery, as are daughter Lucy F. & spouse Levi Morgan.
H. D. Somerville reports that Col. Turner Boulware, who had been Postmaster at Cisco and operated "15 Mile House" hotel on Staunton Pike, had also managed his brother-in-law Bushrod Creel's "California House" hotel from November 1866 to October 1868. Colonel Boulware reportedly died in October 1872 at the time of his 80th Birthday, during a visit to his sisters, Elizabeth & Caroline Boulware and his son James Boulware in Bowling Green, Virginia. He was buried there in Bowling Green next to his father, Mark Boulware.
