James F. Ralph, 79, of 708 Briddick St., Eldorado, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at his residence.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the funeral home.
He was born July 27, 1925, in Elizabethtown to Frank and Lena (Robinson) Ralph. He married Jennie Dial, who preceded him in death.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a supervisor at a steel mill, having retired from the industry in 1981. He was a life member of the American Legion and active in the Saline, Gallatin and Hardin county historical societies, where he studied history.
He is survived by four sons, Steve Ralph of Hobart, Ind., Dennis Ralph of Lumberton, Texas, Dan Ralph of Phoenix, Ariz. and Kevin Ralph of Hobart, Ind.; three brothers, Bobby Ralph of Portage, Ind., Earl Ralph of Gary, Ind. and Jerry Ralph of Springfield; three sisters, Ruth Daymon Barnett of Harrisburg, Reva Parks of Carrier Mills and Shirley Ralph of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son James Troy, who was killed in Vietnam on Hamburger Hill in 1969.
