from pendleton times July 3, 2003 Mervin W. Kimble, 80, of Upper Tract, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg. Mr. Kimble was born Feb. 21, 1923, at Brushy Run and was the son of the late Alfred Vincent Kimble and Lucinda Ellen Self Kimble. He was a farmer and had worked on the pipeline for several years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Petersburg Ward. On Dec 25, 1941, he married Velma Pearl Alt Kimble, who preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1989. On Jan 1, 1996, he married Nora Turner Kimble, who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Sandra Borror and Bonnie Holloway, both of Upper Tract, Jane Huffman and Kathy Hartman, both of Franklin, and Sharon Scott of Brandywine; four sons , Dr. J. Stephen Kimble of Petersburg, Richard Kimble of Upper Tract, Roger Kimble of Franklin and Ronnie Kimble of Brandywine; one foster daughter, Joyce George of Upper Tract; four stepsons, Charles Turner, Dennis Turner, Bradley Turner and Joey Turner, all of Upper Tract; one stepdaughter, Kathy Kimble of Franklin; two sisters, Alice Ketterman of Maysville and Zola Swick of Petersburg; two half brothers, John A. Kimble of Franklin and Kennie Kimble of Upper Tract; 37 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and one step-great-daughter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Franklin Ward, with Bishop David Bradley and Bishop David Hartman officiating. Burial will at the Kile Cemetery at Upper Tract. Friends may call at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin after 9:00 Wednesday. The family received friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice. Mr. Kimble was a lifetime member of the upper Tract fire Department. and he rode on the fire truck to the cemetery
