George Willis Hubbs, 80, born February 22, 1920, Drumright, OK; died July 30, 2000, Tulsa, OK. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 2 at Brookhaven Christian Church (1020 S. Garnett Rd.), The Rev. Phil Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the The Veterans Field of Honor of Floral Haven Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Southlawn. Son of Willis L. Hubbs and Dora Atkins, he is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara. Also survived by: daughter, Diane Villines and her husband, Elton; sons, David and his wife, Linda, Don and his wife, Paula; loving grandchildren, Holly Hubbs, Matthew Villines, Philip Hubbs, Heather and Hanna Hubbs. Also survived by sister, Dorene Parks and numerous nieces and nephews. George moved to Tulsa from Drumright with his family when he was 6 months old. 1936 graduate of East Central High School. Served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the U.S.S. Haskell. January, 1945, George participated in reinforcement of the assault on San Fabian, Lingayen Gulf, Luzon, Philippine Islands. Self-employed service station owner, retiring in 1978. Dad was an avid golfer who truly loved the game. Moore's Southlawn.
