Chico Chronicle-Record, Saturday, January 28, 1893, pg 1 col 4: Killed by His Team. Yesterday afternoon Henry McDonald, an old resident of Chico, met with a violent and terrible death at the Boone Jones place above town on Nord road. Mr. McDonald was driving a six-horse team to a gang plow. He had a young horse on the off wheel and it is supposed that the young animal got to kicking and caused the team to run away. At any rate the team ran away and took the plow out onto the land and in the run McDonald was thrown from his stand on the plow and fell in front of the plow. The plow caught him in the side and inflicted a ghastly wound, the vitals being exposed.
Henry McDonald was about 58 years of age and was a native of New York. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. George Strange, and a sister, Mrs. Asa Morley.
