Frank E. LANDIS, 65, former resident of Akron, died early Thursday at his home in Marcellus, Mich. He had been in failing health for the past year. Mr. Landis, who was employed as a night watchman, left Akron 10 years ago. He was born June 6, 1889, in Henry township to Israel and Laura (HITE) LANDIS. Mr. Landis was a member of the Methodist church of Marcellus. Survivors are a son and daughter; three brothers, Wilbur LANDIS of Rochester; Dow and Ted LANDIS, Akron; three sisters, Mrs. Herman BUCHER and Mrs. Russell PAXTON, near Akron, and Mrs. Clarence SAMPSON, South Bend. Final rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Moyer-Haupert funeral home in Akron. The Rev. Daniel L. SLAYBAUGH will officiate and burial will be in the Bethel Silver Creek cemetery, three miles east of Akron. Friends may call at the funeral home.
