Mrs. Anna Wettstein, 101, formerly of the town of Stockbridge, and a resident of Calumet Homestead in New Holstein since 1974, died there Wednesday morning.

She was born in Marytown, on April 16, 1881, daughter of Michael and Katherine Berchem Kaut. She attended schools in Marytown.

She was married to Edward Wettstein on Jan. 14, 1902, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at Kloten. Mr. Wettstein died Oct. 24, 1948. Mrs. Wettstein was employed during the summer months at the A. T. Hipke Canning Co. in New Holstein.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, its Christian Mothers Society, the Tabernacle Club of the church, and the New Holstein Senior Citizens.

Survivors include one son, John of Chilton; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Achter and Mrs. Anton (Anna) Mueller, both of Chilton, and Mrs. Jerome (Josephine) Schreiner of New Holstein; seven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter one grandchild and 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wettstein were Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph Hermsen, pastor officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
