SET TUESDAY
AT CHAPEL

Funeral services for James Clifton Ewers, 73, of Otis, will be held Tuesday at the West Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m., with the Rev. W.R. Brockman of Otis , assisted by the Rev. J. Melvin Ray officiating. Burial will be at Carlsbad Cemetery.

Born Feb. 16, 1883 at Hot Springs, Ark., Ewers came to Eddy county in 1893 with his family and settled in the Otis area. In the early 1900's,. Ewers was a rural mail carrier out of Carlsbad. He was a farmer and carpenter much of his life. He died Saturday at a local hospital.

Married on Dec. 29, 1917, Ewers was a member of the Otis Baptist Church since 1921 and a past member of the Odd Fellows.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ada Mae Ewers, Otis; a son, Leroy Ewers, Carlsbad; two daughters, Mrs. H.B. Harrison, Carlsbad, and Mrs. Virgil Etcheson of Missouri, and seven grandchildren.

Pall bearers will be Floyd Neely, Ardel Janaway, Scott Porter, Jody Cox, Dick West and Jerry Ballard.

Honorary pall bearers will be Arlie Nichols, O.C. Vick, T. Bannister, W.W. Carlton, R.N. Thomas, Homer Inglas and Kirbey Yielding.
