Ray Kerns, 64, of Harrisville, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Ritchie County, a son of the late Thomas and Nancy Josephine Nutter Kerns. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church, and was a retired maintenance employee on various jobs in Ritchie and Randolph Counties. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Carpenter Wilson Kerns; one son, Claude of Pickens; five sisters, Mrs. Estella Varner, of Beach Bottom, Mrs. Bessie Phillips of Cairo, Miss Helen Kerns and Mrs. Alice Higgins, both of San Mateo, Calif., Mrs. Agatha Marr, of Deer Park, Wash. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Raiguel Funeral Home in Harrisville with the Rev. Charles Rogers officiating. Burial was in the Mason Cemetery.
