Author. Co-wrote 'Tales from Shakespeare,' with her brother Charles, which was the standard introduction to the poet's work for Victorian children. In 1796 in a manic fit, Mary stabbed their mother to death and Charles saved her from the madhouse by volunterring to care for her.
