Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Purity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Marc Mason, Dr. James Boyce Bankhead Jr., the Rev. Cody Watson and the Rev. Ike Kennerly officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Liberty Hill by Barron Funeral Home.
Mrs. McCaskill was born Aug. 13, 1912, in Liberty Hill, to former Governor John G. Richards and Bettie Coates Richards. She was one of nine girls and two boys. She was a graduate of Winthrop College.
She married former Chester County Clerk of Court J. Boyce Bankhead. She was a home demonstration agent for Chester County for a number of years and taught chemistry at Chester High School.
She was a longtime active member of Purity Presbyterian Church where she had served as the female elder. She later married John McCaskill and they had resided at Presbyterian Home in Clinton for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1978; and her parents.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dr. James Boyce Bankhead Jr. of Amarillo, Texas, and John G. Richards Bankhead of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Bankhead Buccheri of Evanston, Ill.; a sister, Jean Richards Roddey of Rock Hill; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo Building Fund.
