Funeral services for Mrs. May Mohlenbruck, who died at Schmitt Memorial hospital Monday were held at Independence Hall in Schuyler county at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The Rev. Lottie Morrow was in charge of the service. "Does Jesus Care?" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" were sung. Those taking care of flowers were granddaughters of the deceased, Etha Stambaugh, Mary Seward, Ila Mohlenbruck and Freida Mohlenbruck. Burial was in Bell cemetery in Schuyler county with the following nephews acting as pallbearers: Leslie Cokenour, Charles Baldwin, Floyd Backer, Medford Lashbrook, Claude Bridgewater, Floyd Ward. May Cokenour Mohlenbruck, second child of James and Emily Mason Cokenour, was born in Bainbridge township, July 9, 1854, at the same homestead where she lived her entire life span, except for about nine years which were spent in the same township in which she was born. She was 86 years, two months and 28 days at the time of her death. On Dec. 26, 1883 she was united in marriage to Henry Mohlenbruck at the home of John Hugh Lawler, justice of the peace. To this union were born four children: Mary E. Smedley of Frederick, Fred who was living in her home, Kathrine Seward of Canton, one son Cyrus A. who passed away at the age of four years. Also a niece, Mary Bridgewater, who made her home with her aunt from the time she was 14 years of age until her marriage. She was preceded in death by her husband Sept. 12, 1924. Also three brothers and one sister. One brother, Sherman Bell of Beardstown survives. Also 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild survives.
