Clifford A. Kittell, 71, of Springfield, died at 10:05 p.m. Monday at Springfield Community Hospital. Mr. Kittell was born in Elmhurst, attended Springfield schools and served in the Cavalry Unit of the Illinois National Guard from 1926 to 1936. He was married to Ann Kubish in 1948. Mr. Kittell was employed as a foreman at the Hobbs Division of Stewart Warner Corporation for 35 years before his retirement in 1973. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, and the Management Club and 25-Year Club of Hobbs Manufacturing.

Mr. Kittell was preceded in death by two brothers, Clary in 1962 and Art in 1980.

Surviving are his wife, Ann; two sons, Jay D. Kittell Sr. of Springfield and Bill Kittell of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Norma Whitworth of Springfield; one brother, Frank of Florida; eight grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Bisch Memorial Home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. - State Journal-Register, Springfield, IL, Wednesday, 1-14-1981, p. 49.
