Dr. Curtis A. Nystrom
Dr, Curtis A. Nystrom, 59, 4640 S.W. Urish Road, died Saturday at Topeka hospital after a long illness.
He was born June 17, 1923 on a farm near Savonburg, the son of C. Arthur and Hedvig Johnson Nystrom.
He was graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1954. He was a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.
He attended First Assembly of God Church, Topeka. He was a member of the Shawnee County Medical Society; the American Academy of Family Practice; the Kansas Medical Society; and the Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International of which he was past president. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was married to Virginia Lamb Aug. 14, 1949 in Elsmore. She survives at home.
Other survivors include two sons, Karl Kirkwood Nystrom, Topeka, and Rocky Brent Nystrom, St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Valorie Jean Nystrom, Topeka; two brothers, A. Noel Nystrom, Prairie Village, and Cecil M. Nystrom, Cincinnati, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs. Norean Raab, Kansas City, Kan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Elsmore Cemetery, Elsmore. Memorial contributions may be made to Oral Roberts Medical School for Cancer Research, Tulsa, Okla., or to Shawnee County Medical Auxilliary Scholarship Fund.
