STANLEY - Maycie Louise McDaniel Wellman, 87, died Feb. 7, 2011, at Peak Resources in Gastonia.
She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Hardy and Alpha McCorkle McDaniel.
Ms. Wellman was retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital, member of the Eastern Star in Stanley and a member of the Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Maycie is survived by a son, Donald Grindstaff and wife Nancy of Stanley; a daughter Rita Gibson of Stanley; a niece, Sherry McCoig of Belmont; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Bruce Grindstaff,Bobby Matthews and James Wellman; a daughter,Janice Grindstaff ; a brother, Melvin McDaniel; three sisters,twin sister Mable Williams,Beulah Guerin(Boots) and Edith McDaniel.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. Danny W. Perry officiating.
