Mass of Christian Burial for Francis Steven Born, 60, Ottawa will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. He died Friday, February 4, 2011 at his home in Ottawa.
He was born November 25, 1950 in Lawrence, KS the son of Francis Eugene and Bernice (Gehlen) Born.
He graduated from Eudora High School in 1968. He served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam Era. He worked for Ritchie Sand Plant in Wichita for over 25 years and then for the Walmart Distribution Center in Ottawa until he retired.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Born and wife Lisa of Rantoul, KS; PJ Born and his wife, Jolene of Eudora, KS; his mother, Bernice Born of Eudora; two sisters, Rose Mary Lemmons and her husband, Michael of Eudora; Joyce Lynn Vines of Lawrence; one brother; Larry Michael Born of Lawrence; four grandchildren, Joshua, David, Alexia, Payden. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Eugene Born on May 10, 2010.
A rosary will be said on February 9, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. with the visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m. at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel.
The family suggests memorials in his name to Holy Family Catholic Building Fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
